These are things that need to be brought up in a community that doesn't deal with them very well. "Real game" is a pretty nonsense term, as well.

Post of the Year.

Pretty sure this is more of a report, less of an editorial. The lines often blur a little on the internet, but still.

"Not everything about video games is political. Video games have nothing to do with your past traumas, or your orientation, or your gender, or your minority status. But by all means, project. Project all your baggage onto the world's most relevant medium, because you are too impotent to do anything else with it."

*long, hard stare*

Hello fellow biracial bisexual! I have no choice words for you.

I lost a friend to that bullshit double standard. Not a very good friend, obviously—incredibly shitty, really—but still.

To write about video games. Why are -you- on Kotaku? o.o

*looks at the video game about sex issues* *looks at you* ...seriously?

Every group will start discriminating amongst themselves, even groups that suffer discrimination from external forces. It's...depressing.

Going to have to give this a look and see how it handles the subject. I keep myself pretty isolated from people in general, let alone the LGBT community, so I've never experienced that kind of discrimination. Sadly, I can definitely see how and why it happens.

I'm actually surprised the Wii U ended up doing so well (and I'm a Day One Early Adopter).

You're doing -such- a good job. =D

Good to see you're earning that Ignorant label you just got slapped with. Keep it up, you shining star, you!

It'll be dead the moment that the audience that wants it no longer exists. There is no supply if there is no demand, thus no reason to go through the hassle of printing physical media unless there's something to gain. Do you really think there could still be a printing and publishing industry if there wasn't money to

That last one is beautiful, in a way.

YOU'RE OUT OF YOUR ELEMENT, DONNY.

Th-that sounds so beautiful...

Agreed. Now I just need Virtual Console support in the native Wii U interface. Dear Nintendo: I will buy $64 worth of SNES games (8, if they keep to their $8 pricing) the day you integrate VC into the system. This I swear.

I've already got ZombiU (loved it loved it loved it), and I hate sports, but I will totally give NBA a shot. The demos on Wii U are a real godsend (Rayman Legends, you will be mine, mine, mine...).
