I was given the use of a car when I got my license, at 17. It was not mine. My name was not on the title. I was not financially responsible for the maintenance, but I did have to handle the rest of the joys of ownership.

My son gets good grades and doesn’t hang out with idiots.

I’m of so many minds on this. I drove crazy shit as a young person - cars that could go too fast, cars that were not known for their stopping ability, muscle cars that were good when going straight and terrifying when not, little Brit and Italian convertibles that could literally drive under a semi, rear-wheel drive

I spent 20 years overseeing large workers’ compensation programs nationwide, including for several airlines. The constellation of stupid things people do that cause injury is so vast that if one doesn’t appreciate statistics at the start, one will eventually. You cannot train away human frailty; the most experienced

For my own experiences, I’ve got a wood shop in my basement with a table saw, jointer/planer and all the needed tools for milling lumber. I also get very frequent and debilitating migraines. Any time I use the machines that can turn you into ground beef, I’ve got a checklist of things to do before any single cut or

During my stint in the Navy I was a technician for an aircraft called affectionately “The Hoover” (a S3 Viking) it had two very large Pratt and Whitney engines attached to it that had the same safe distance.

Yep. Never stop on train tracks.

if the truck driver was really just sitting there waiting for a green light doesn’t make him at fault? You have to be sure you can cross your entire vehicle before attempting to cross any kind of intersection right?

To be fair, if I had 973 kids from 537 women I might struggle for cash flow for all the child support payments.

really, wtf, people want to get into the airport for fun... and now I need to wait in a longer line.

If there’s any consolation for the unfortunate fact that he became the richest person on the planet by repeatedly making false assertions about the future success of Tesla prompting millions to overpay for its shares, it’s that he then had to give up billions of that undeserved wealth by overpaying for a social media

Funny enough the best answer I could find on Google came from a KIA site:

I don’t know who the customer for this would be. Of the (small number of) people who still buy manuals, how many of us would really be interested in a “virtual” manual?

Needless complication in a tool is stupid.

First you have to code for traffic.

This is how rich people stay rich because you **know** that country club has the money to just buy the guy the fucking truck.

HIO insurance is cheap. This country club is cheaper.

Word. Bike lanes along the entire block near any police station is covered in cop’s private cars and their work vehicles.

I couldn’t agree with this more. I also see lots of taxis/ubers and food delivery drivers as well as large truck delivery drivers blocking the bike lanes but Police and “city” vehicles certainly seem to be the worst offenders.

Funny how that car window broke just as I was riding by.
