I agree with you, raketman. The shallow focus cues are quite logical. The only odd thing is that, given the downward tilt angle on the photo, the front dial would have to be tilted up to be seen straight-on as we do. It's not inconceivable that Nikon has made this change for ergonomics of some sort. But looking

Hold down the option key (Mac) and delete will appear on the menu.

Nice sales pitch, but there aren't too many "1-ton cars" out there to test with. Smart is less than a ton, but is that really a car?

I know - I was well into DV by 2001 (three years). NYPD pre-9/11 could never be accused of being state of the art technically. Their cars generally did not have radios, copters were Hueys decommisioned from the Air Force, Marines, etc. etc.

Not to rain on Mr. Knott's parade but this was done about thirteen years ago for the opening titles of a movie called "Sour Grapes" directed by Larry David. It took about three days. The reason for the time difference is that for "Sour Grapes" heat lamps were turned on for thirty seconds between each exposure,

@An Autotroph: Yes - I learned this at least thirty years ago, so I assume it's been true for longer than five years.

@technologiq: Third part software Airfoil lets you do essentially this.

@icecreamman: There isn't any way to really simulate a lens effect like this in post except by shooting high dynamic range images (HDRI). The Vaseline will be affected by "super white" parts of image and cause soft glows. Those bits would just be clipped in a "clean" digital photo and PS would not know which ones

The microphone is oriented the wrong way to best pick up the sound. It should be horizontal, as the pickup pattern on that mic comes from the side, not the top.

@Lactose_The_Intolerant: It looks like it's using the acceleration of gravity to simulate the acceleration of the car on a flat road. When your car is accelerating you are pushed back in your seat, same as being tipped backward. Vice-versa for braking. Constant speed driving has no acceleration and hence would be

I'm guessing the fireplace is inoperable? No room for the flue.
