The whole going to the grocery store thing is ending though and I think more stores will follow suit. At some hotels you need to have a web page to enter a password before it will connect to the internet. i have used it many times for this.

Even in the pro world of cameras the management systems do not automatically keep the devices firmware updated. Automatically changing passwords set up by the server would not make the system any more secure in my opinion. These are interesting concepts however it would be a nightmare to manage.
