Tesla sells something they call “Full Self-Driving Capability.” It is not capable of full self-driving. Period.

“how would you separate the “FSD” option package from the “Autopilot” (or commonly abbreviated “AP”) that is included with the car free?”
...and if you’re talking about the option called “Full Self Driving Capability”, just be sure to mention it’s not actually >L2, yet... which they always do already.
Not even Chicago? Really?
Only if you intentionally use the wrong pronouns for someone. If a person has said “I use he/him/his” and you use “they,” then you’re being intentionally rude and ignoring what that person has expressed. But if you truly don’t know how someone would like to be addressed, using the neutral “they” isn’t erasing anything.
Except that’s not true, given the existence of intersex individuals. You seriously misunderstand “a science called biology.”
I saw a tweet a few days back, unfortunately I can’t remember the author, but it was basically:
Nevermind that grammar snob prescriptivism is just another form of elitism - acting better than others because you follow some arbitrary set of rules for how language “should” be used. Grammar rules help us achieve a shared understanding, but they can often be broken without any misunderstanding and in those…
“people defining themselves by a third write in option in a binary physical reality”
If you have any friends who work in restaurants or bars, they might be able to get you a shot of it to try - that’s how my boyfriend introduced me to it a few months back. Definitely worth trying.
I’d say it depends on both what devices you have and what level of privacy visitors might be expecting given the nature of their visit.
California had previously set a regulation for “Range-Extended Electric Vehicles” like my BMW i3, saying that the electric range had to be greater than the gasoline-powered “extended” range in order to quality as an EV, rather than an hybrid. No other state had this requirement.
*Elon Musk screams in horror*
But it would save everyone a few hours of time every other Sunday, because we would know that quali results = race results. 🙄
There’s a fundamental difference between acknowledging “This person seems to exist in a culture very different from our own, that means we might not get along well” and “We’re going to make a big issue out of this and go out of our way to make him feel like an outsider.”
Did he say anyone made an issue out of it? It’s not like they were hazing the kid for it.
Even if Tesla didn’t say “Full Self Driving,” the fact is that many people don’t understand the technical definition and limitations of aviation “autopilot” technology - they just assume it can do everything. Basing an argument on “Well, technically it’s accurate...” is stupid when this system has already led to…
No other car company uses the name “Autopilot,” a term many people misunderstand as “fully automated.” No other company has a CEO going around sharing videos of people being wildly dangerous with their systems.
I’ve found that I really only talk to my non-car friends about Musk, and that’s usually to tell them that he’s full of it, because all of my car friends already understand that and don’t care what comes out of his mouth.
I don’t think the FIA is doing it to intentionally or consciously favor Mercedes, but I do think they have some mental block where they feel they can’t punish Mercedes because “They’re doing so well, if we punish them it’ll be seen as overly partisan.”
