Because if you can frighten people into not talking by making them think they’ll get sued out of existence if they do, they’re less likely to publicly talk about the horrible things you did.
Dear Steam,
That’s actually not far from how groceries and other retailers operate. Makers — whether of soda, cereal or toys — pay to be highlighted there.
that doesn’t make sense at all.
If you don’t pay the 25k you cereal is still going to be on the same shelf as any other cereal box. paying 25k would garanteed that the store put your cereal at the front of the store in a very nice display saying “hey come try our new cereal!”.
not paying doesn’t make it that you can’t…
I don’t really get the issue here. Yes it makes it hard to break into the mainstream as an indie developer. But this is kinda just how marketing works. If you want people to see your game front and center, be prepared to pay for that.
I can relate to this situation on some level because my mother didn’t take me to get the HPV vaccine when it became available for the first time because she was afraid that it would make me infertile. You know what definitely causes infertility? Cervical cancer.

I say this both as a 90's kid whose favorite athlete ever is Scottie Pippen, and as a white man who takes accusations of racism very seriously:
uh.... so he drew up a play to go to someone who had a hot hand and therefore racist?
I’ve not been to Buenos Aires, but I agree with you in comparing NYC, Paris, and London. Moscow is happenin’! I really miss living there. Not today, exactly, but in a general sense.
Game with multiple versions only has one that works...and that’s somehow the people who bought it fault? And maybe they should have explicitly made it clear that what they were showing was not for last gen consoles. But the deception is somehow the fault of the deceived? I don’t get you people that defend these…
Considering he voluntarily agreed to and his attorneys voluntarily offered to file a SLAAP suit in California WHEN THEY DIDN’T HAVE TO indicates to me that he’s an idiot and they are milking the cash cow and probably should be sued for malpractice. Given that, as well as the garbage actually in the filing (he’s…
