But it's still possible though, thanks to things like DosBox, VM's, etc. I understand that some games take a bit more effort to work than others, but they it's at the very least POSSIBLE on PC, where as consoles are intended to lock things down.

I wouldn't say Xbox works "nearly" 100% on the 360. There are PLENTY of games that either 1) don't work at all, or 2) do not work well in the emulated form. And while Gamecube works on the Wii....it doesn't anymore. They took BC out of the newer Wii systems so even that didn't make it through a whole generation.

It has nothing to do with laziness and everything to do with them not wanting you to play the previous generation games. They want you to buy PS4 games, not continue playing PS3 games.

It's funny how people always flip out about no BC yet that has generally been the way it's been. Could you play SNES games the N64? Genesis games on the Dreamcast? The PS1 has been the only system that has had consistent, reliable BC support from future hardware. Everything else has either been non-existent, or…
