It is a combination of things. It’s some people equating socialised healthcare with “zomg socialisms!” It’s people assuming—wkthout hard evidence—that socialised healthcare would cost waaay too much. It’s some people, yes, unwilling to subsidize their neighbor.
And Ted Cruz proves that he, like so many others, does not understand that the First Amendment does not apply to private businesses like Facebook. They are free to censor whatever and whoever they like.
