“Bloody Tears” alone cancels out anything bad about Castlevania 2. The whole soundtrack is quite brilliant really.

Alternate explanations I’ve heard is that the moon landing happened, but the film documentation got corrupted by radiation (GCR’s, SPE’s, etc) while traveling through space (like when photographers of yesteryear used high ISO 35mm film would lose their work passing through multiple x-rays machines at airport…

It should be different. Most enthusiasts would test drive a car. A lot of average people don’t even bother because they don’t even care how a car drives or handles. It just has to look nice or have cachet (like a new BMW or Benz), or be an appliance (like a Prius or a Tesla).

Who knows. Can you imagine all those people who bought Valkyries, LaFerraris, 918's, and P1's, before a physically complete example were ever made?

Loved this series of movies growing up. Tsuchiya always makes a statement about only racing on circuits in every movie. I would say it’s easier in a different way.  It’s a plus that everything can be done off of USB, so it’s really more of a plug and play, rather than having to flash a new kernel from the Classic hardware.
