Are you implying that they DON’T look like this? Because I’m pretty sure that image is accurate.

Agreed. Before the election, I saw him as vulgar but mostly a joke—now I think he’s evil.
I like how initially it was a guy behind them who started complaining, yet they’re the ones who got booted. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I wonder what’s going on here?
The fact that is sons were there is chilling. Was he putting on some kind of dominance display? I’m not in favor of breaking up families, but he sounds like the kind of person who shouldn’t be around children, at least not without supervision.
He got one more reply. After this, it’s only going to be gifs of bye felica and people making “wank off” motions. I’m done with his nonsense. Sometimes it’s worth giving it a try and seeing if you can have a civil conversation, and sometimes it’s not.
You make a good point about lady’s saddles. The only lady’s saddle I was aware of was pillion, but that’s purely from The Canterbury Tales and I don’t know much about it or any other saddle, really. You also make a good point about the lines in the painting. Having tense knees would make her look more powerful and…
You made me curious, so I did a little more looking around instead of relying on my hazy memory. Historical Lady Godiva: 1010-1067, stirrups introduced to GB by Cnut the Great, 985-1035. He certainly invaded Mercia a few times, so it’s not unlikely that people saw stirrups and made their own—on the other hand, I think…
so scared rn
Fun fact: stirrups haven’t actually been around all that long, considering how long the horse has been domesticated. I’m not sure if they were well-established in GB in Lady Godiva’s lifetime, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she didn’t have stirrups (not that she actually rode naked through town or anything).
This comment should be at the top.
Yeah. At first I was like, “Well, at least he’s making our lingering societal issues painfully obvious. That could be a good thing, right?” But it turns out that the people who NEEDED to realize that . . . still aren’t realizing that. Instead, they’re feeling validated because they’ve found people who agree with them.
That image is SO UNSETTLING, yet I am looking forward to my first opportunity to use it. Is that wrong?
Surprise twist: Turns out, wild animals are dangerous!
This is a valid (and incredibly creepy) point!
Also, his shirt is almost as tall as she is.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA that’s so adorable
I’m gonna need someone to convince me that the lede image isn’t just the same woman with different wigs and makeup.
