My mom’s youngest brother was 16 when I was born, and apparently I was a screamer, but he was one of the few people I would quiet down for. He’s still my favorite uncle! Maybe you’ll end up with a special bond too :)

The first one is erotica, not an actual memoir.

I know “it could be worse” is cold comfort, but at least you like your current haircut! So hey, it could be worse :)

Oh no! When it comes to my hair, I feel like Jo from Little Women—it’s my one beauty! I hope yours grows back quickly. Do you feel good about your current haircut at least?

I had n0 idea of who Chaz Dean was, so I just looked him up. It seems that you were lucky if you just lost length and didn’t have any hair fall out in clumps! I’ve never heard of conditioner that made hair fall out—that is completely crazy. Sounds like I’ll be sticking to my trusty old Herbal Essences Long Term

Caveat: I have long hair, and just cut it when it gets to be a pain/gets too heavy/looks raggedy. So, I always know that if I seriously screw up, I’ll have enough length left for a professional to rescue me and not leave me looking a fool. Also, my hair is pretty straight, so it’s easy to manage. That said, the method

I learned how to cut my own hair, mostly because I’m poor, but also because I hate small talk. Win/win!

My grandma had this game! We loved it.

I first read this in elementary school (thanks, Mrs. Brown!), and I still think it’s wonderful. It’s about archaeologists from the future misinterpreting a buried motel. http://www.amazon.com/Motel-Mysterie…

Milnot is the ONLY evaporated milk. On my dad’s side of the family, all the best family recipes call for Milnot. Mashed potatoes? Milnot. Mac and cheese? Milnot. Everything that calls for milk is better with Milnot instead. Tomorrow shall be glorious!

OK, now I need to make those cheddar cheese crisps.

My brother just got engaged, and I’m very excited about it, since his fiancee is wonderful. So far, she hasn’t asked me to stand up with her, and I’m hoping she won’t. She is great and I’m excited to finally (FINALLY!) have a sister, but I really hate standing up in front of people like that. I know, I know, the bride

I’ve wanted see that ever since I first heard about it in college (about 2002). So jealous!

So true. But hey, my mom is impressed by how quickly I can solve them, so that’s good, right?

As an older sister to 3 brothers, that part just killed me. Sure, I tease, but that was just cruel.

Peace church! WOOOOOOO!

Sometimes charity means being willing to be a sucker, or worse, a victim. So, yes, it’s possible that a couple of future terrorists have hidden themselves amongst the thousands who are fleeing for their lives. However, the right thing to do is still clear. It takes a different kind of courage than the courage it takes

Yeah, I got told I looked like my dad a lot, and I didn’t feel any better when people said I looked like his mom instead. Grandma was old—and let’s be honest, was never a beauty. Grandpa on the other hand . . . well, let’s just say that they are one example of a very handsome man being attracted to a rather homely

My auntie loves to tell my brother how handsome he is. One day when he was in his early 20s, she said, “Do women tell you how beautiful you are all the time?”

And a little thing I like to call “deliberate incompetence” has a lot to do with it as well, I think. That way, you don’t have to try because you’re “just not good at it.” Bullshit. You won’t get good at anything without trying and practicing.
