I once worked with a student with Tourette’s (the verbal tic kind—he had numerous other tics). Once he got started on a word/phrase, he couldn’t come off of it. Whether it was a comment about his teachers breasts, or that he thought I was gay. He repeated it over and over again, trying to stop.

Thankfully, there has been the same push for STEM activities through meirtbadges and weekend camp outs, and summer camps for the BSA as there has been through GSA. And of course, if you never talked about kinetic energy, friction, aerodynamics, or other physics pronciples, you aren’t building your pinewood derby car

It is still that way in many of the Troops that I work with.

Thanks for saying this. I have a similar experience with my twin sons, who just earned Eagle 2 days ago!

Maybe, but I don’t think so. It is my opinion, but I think there have always been cops like this all along, but we just didn’t hear about those stories at the time.

I still believe that there are plenty of cops who would behave exactly how you describe. That doesn’t mean they are all good and make wise choices, and

I think if they are young enough, 2 doses are recommended now. But that still makes it tough.

I have twin sons, and one day, one of them heard a recording of himself and was so surprised at how different he sounds. We then explained that each person sounds different from how we think we sound. He then wondered aloud why his brother sounded the same in the recording as he does normally, and NumbersGal and I

I truly believe that almost anyone can learn. I offer a juggling club at my school where students can learn to juggle (I volunteer and do not get paid for it).

So serious suggestion to a not-so-serious post:

Good grief. Your reaction was totally uncalled for. Grow up.

Edited because you already answered a question similar to mine below. I will have to read all the way through next time!

Your second point is actually the most important. Some family friends of mine have a little girl who would sometimes give me a hug, and one time she didn’t want to. Her mom was a little put off, and I said it was fine, that I wasn’t offended and that I didn’t want the girl to feel like she needed to hug someone she

I completely agree. I grew up on free and reduced lunches, Head Start, Pell Grants, and some scholarships that I earned. I am also a white male, so those things came easier for me. I am a teacher now, and I would place my family and I in middle class now, and we are able save for college, plan for things, etc. Like

Part of that maybe that there is very little actual courting of the middle class. The talk is always about minimum wage and while I think that is important, I don’t think it resonates with the middle who are in jobs that are above minimum wage but still don’t see those things affecting them.

Yeah, I was a very late bloomer. Probably 16-17 before I started. I wasn’t really that interested in girls much until about that pint either.

You know, I was maybe rooting for I’m a bit, but after the way he talked to Ty during the finale episode, I’m back on him being an asshole.

Reminds me of the cardboard Millennium Falcon I made back in the day. I wanted that ship so bad and never got it.

I can confirm this as an “Old” who would stay up and watch Carson when he was young (teens).

It was insanely difficult. I am 43 (and white), and grew up with a kids show called “Captain Kangaroo” in which Cosby did this little educational bit called Picture Pages. Then, I loved watching Fat Albert growing up, found his stand up albums hilarious, and watched him be the best possible father on the Cosby Show.

Yes, you need to be reasonable. $11k was 20 years ago. I would probably up that number to $16,000 or so now, MAYBE $20k at most, but it would need to be a good paying career afterwards.
