For the rudder to be effective you need a big enough velocity component in the body x-axis. I’m not a pilot so I’m just trying to reason out the math in my head I assume you would have to put the nose down and get try to get some body x-axis velocity by using gravity to recover from an inertial z-axis spin. Am I wrong?

Just off the top of my head not thinking about the issue too much, the engines are side by side so the induced torque on the body from only one engine thrusting may not be enough.

I feel like inverting MPG to gallons per mile is a lot more telling when doing a comparison. Not so much at really low MPGs but definitely once you start talking about the 30 MPG range.

Crack pipe. I looked at car like this two years ago, (no manual though) no rust, 3k. It’s a beautiful car but in my mind it’s the best candidate for a big overhaul project. Shed a couple hundred pounds and 4 cylinders with an engine swap and change up the dampers so you don’t feel like you’re in open water.
