Yes. Don’t get me wrong I’m super excited for them to add gadgets to the car again and car with flamethrower is sweet/cliche/practical?/perfect for 007. BUT, this flamethrower looks like what Jeremy used to melt snow on that that harvester snow plow. I also don’t think that flame will do anything other than obstruct

It’s about time they did something cool with the car. Last few movies have really ignored gadgets and the car altogether was kind of unimportant, meaning any other car could’ve done the job.

I know this thing will be completely un-driveable but I want it

You read my mind. +1

You mean before it’s drained or before the performance of the battery degrades too much or the fuse blows? The answer is I don’t know either way.

I want that a piston trophy on my mantle. Might have to become a film maker

Investing in carbide bits might be worthwhile

Those things are life savers if you’re manufacturing something out of aluminum. Tap it for the helicoil, put that sucker in, now you have a tapped hole that does not get damaged every time you screw in/out the bolt.

I always get under the car without eye protection to swap a down pipe and am greeted with a mist of flakes to the eyes

They tukrrrrrjebs

I would take the vette without the options and spend the rest on tires.

Pretty easy job on Subarus. I figure to replace the boot you still have to take the shaft out so it’s just as much work. Also the first time I did it the boot was really bad and grease got flung all over. The joint was probably fine but I didn’t want to deal with it, it was like 65 bucks for a cardan

Just replace the axle, refurbished ones are affordable.

So your power to mass ratio does not actually change. I know we say power to weight but since most of us don’t leave the surface of the earth we take for granted the difference between weight and mass. So you have just as much mass to accelerate but with 1/12th of the force holding you to the surface (translated as

That was a fantastic game, shame they cancelled the sequel

Yea we’re a few years away from CF being cheap, especially with Boeing building their 787’s

Hit it hard enough and you’re going to need to replace any rim as well as a few other things probably.

The CF does not add any compression resistance so I’d be more worried about epoxy holding up and even with a compromised layer the CF will be plenty strong in terms of tension to hold everything in with a wheel spinning at a high RPM. I think what I’m getting at is you will get a gradual degradation of the rim.

It will probably start to fray around the edges, I wouldn’t say it’s brittle but if the epoxy gets fractured the strands will not be held together. Better hone your skills in a parking lot first and avoid curb rash.

I’ve built things out of carbon fiber and fiber glass and what they are capable of making out of these composites blows my mind. I know they have industrial processes that are way better than me placing a resin soaked fabric over some shaved foam by hand but damn.
