Does the Queen maybe need someone to house sit while this is going on? I wouldn’t even need to be paid. I’d just sit on Her Majesty’s couch, eating British candy, watching the BBC and wearing one of her crowns.

i am trying to think of the comments this piece is going to get

She looks like an evil android that’s just been asked the meaning of love.

I’m literally teaching right now!! (They’re doing an in-class writing, don’t judge me.)

It goes in the pile with loose/lose, choose/chose, and bizarrely, definitely/defiantly.

I know. But if Satan were really giving me what I desire, it would involve Christian Bale in Batman shape, Moose Tracks ice cream, spontaneous abortions just by wishing them, student loan payoffs, a never-empty bottle of red wine, more seasons of the West Wing, a new football commissioner, and all members of the Tea

Provided he’s capable and willing to consent.

I have the same hesitations, but no one else that I’m aware of is doing this kind of work (ie using religious doctrine to counter mainstream laws obviously based in conservative, Christian religion—plenty of activists otherwise of course).

ba da bing.

I love them for exactly that— they’re willing to put themselves out there to expose the hypocrisies of these religion-based laws, and they troll all the right people.

I hope not. And from a legal standpoint they should not be able to cherry pick which religious beliefs are sincerely held and which are not. They *should* not favor one religion over the other.

It’s a pity the letter didn’t work, because it would have been fun to watch the fallout. First the membership of the Satanic Church swells as women become aware that it’s literally the only loophole that will grant them bodily autonomy in the state, and then the rebooted Satanic Panic and fears for the mortal souls of

"Satanic Temple spokesperson Lucien Greaves - who will also answer to the name “Doug"

I think I might need to convert. From Catholic-to-ExCatholtic-to-DabblingWiccan-to-Agnostic-to-Staunch Atheist......the road to hell is paved in failed denominations.

Yes, but when it comes to interpreting the Establishment Clause the devil is in the details.

These guys are the absolute best. It’s a weird turn of events where Satanists are the ones providing a glimmer of hope in the news, but I’ll take it.

I know nothing about these people other than their insistence on figures of Baphomet in state houses alongside commandments, and their efforts to expose the hypocrisies of laws targeting women’s health but I love them.

Oh crap I need more coffee. I read that and thought "why are we hailing Stan?"
