@vinod1978: From what I understand in the XDA post, carriers are opposed to charging for updates, point blank, which if were the case with all Android manufacturers, they wouldn't get any updates in any devices at all.

My first thought was that airlines should be doing this more often on themselves so as to build a culture of honesty.
