Everyone who brings that up has no idea how our electric grid works.

It’s amazing how many people don’t understand that being “nice” while driving is usually dangerous. Doing what you’re supposed to do is the nicest thing you can do since it doesn’t put any one else is a more dangerous situation.

That requires too much thinking, plus it’s much easier just to blame the immigrants for all their problems.

Finally, a Mustang emblem that models itself after peak horse.

Shit...I must not be a true American then. My wife drive’s a 12 year old SUV, I drive a 10 year old compact, and have a 26 year old truck for DIY stuff. Oh and my house is only 3x my yearly income.

Ha! that was my first thought too...I’m paying closer to $6k a year for my family for a high deductible company plan. It’s asinine.

True, but brand loyalty still exists. Between two similar cars people are most likely going to stick with the brand they know if it’s been good to them.

I can accept pretty much any other criticism against F1 from a fan even if I don’t agree with it at all but if you’re telling me that you think F1 cars should have a major part of their design mandated spec, you don’t belong anywhere near an F1 event, period. It means you’re only here to troll and appropriate

it’s simply to put on a good show and win

I’m just pointing out that F1 can be whatever it wants to be. Sure, no one forced those cars to look that way, but the rules and technology available drove them to that. Why do most cars look pretty similar across the grid for any given year? So what if one piece of the puzzle is spec. It’s still a far cry from Indy

At least those developments have some benefit in helping develop technology that would make cars more efficient.

So what’s F1 then??

The ire over “everyone gets a trophy” is hilarious to me, because obviously the kids weren’t in charge of creating and handing out the trophies. And the people hurt about the “OK boomer” meme are the same people who call Millenials “snowflakes” without a shred of shame.

I just think the aero component of the cars is so damn expensive to develop that of course only the most well funded teams are going to figure that out. Maybe even something like a standard front and rear wing and a ban on any other wings or winglets. It’s not so much about the chassis as it is the aero that I think

What? You’re about a decade or so off there bud. We’re too young to remember things like 8-track tapes, Atari, and emissions choked V8s. (I’m solidly in the Millenial bracket and grew up with everything you mentioned)

Have you watched indy car? The racing is much more competitive.

My proposal for F1 is to make a standard body/aero package and open up the rules on engines/drive line/KERS/suspension and let the teams go nuts there. I mean one of the purposes of motor sports is to develop new tech that will trickle down to consumer cars eventually. Beyond a few super cars I don’t see down force

For dry pavement sure...but that all depends on getting good all seasons (my truck tires are mild all terrains which is why they are probably so bad in the cold compared to my winters). On wet pavement maybe...but I doubt there’s much of a difference. Which is the main thing to keep in mind, all seasons might

That’s quite the take you pulled out of your ass.
