“Big Baller Brand Kebab”

I’m praying they succeed too, but after looking at some of the potential rosters, (other than a goalie) I think they’re going to be AWFUL for a while.

True. In general, I’m against steroids because it ruins the historical records and makes feats seem “fake”.

Ah, now all those years of my dad calling me a failure seem warranted. I forgive!

Any chance Lonzo falls in the draft since the front offices won’t want to deal with his dad? If so, potentially how far could he slide?

“they probably should be trying to buy some goodwill from fans” - Those are YOUR words regarding donating money, not mine. Fuck, in my last comment I was even trying to AGREE with you and you still argued the contrary.

I assume you’re being sarcastic?

Also, among other things, he is NOT a “genius marketer”. We need to stop giving credit to people who use someone else’s fame as pedestal to spout off on social media. There’s nothing genius or intelligent about it.

For goodwill. The USWNT isn’t a charity. It’s a fucking separate business that, as I said, would generate far less goodwill than donating to a real charity. Saying well “the NHL should donate to the USWNT because that’s a nice thing to do”, is not a good argument. Do you donate to every homeless person you see on

But why would the NHL want to donate to them is my point? They could donate to any number of charities and receive MORE goodwill than donating to the US WNT.

But the NHL and national hockey (in any country) are not intertwined. They are two separate hockey entities. The NHL doesn’t give anything to men’s Canadian or American teams. The Czech hockey league doesn’t give anything to the Czech national teams, nor does the Swiss hockey league, etc.

The Olympics is a couple weeks work, yes (in fact I think the hockey tournament portion is even shorter than that, but I could be wrong).

You keep trying to compare apples to oranges. A “div 10" version of a boxer would be some guy fighting in a local gym in a suburb of LA or wherever, trying to earn his golden gloves.

Women have every right to play any sport, I didn’t say women’s hockey should be eliminated at all, you’re just putting words in my mouth. There’s nothing wrong with being the “division 10" level of a sport, but you should be paid accordingly.

When you’re talking about star players are you talking about for the women? If so, the US has arguably the most stars. They’re probably the best team in the world. Even if you’re talking about the men, they have a ton of stars....you clearly don’t know anything about hockey at alllll, which makes your argument(s)

I’m not arguing that they deserve more than $1500 a year a tall, that’s a pittance. I’m just saying it’s not “weird” or uncommon to break it down per game in sports, in which case they’re making quite a lot for a couple weeks worth of work.

Firstly, you’re singing to the wrong choir, because I really don’t understand nor care for NCAA sports. But, the Clemson players didn’t receive a penny....so there’s that. Also, the fact that they bring in millions upon millions more money than the US women’s hockey team...

That is the worst argument I’ve ever heard. They’re both ice hockey. You get paid based on your talent and skill in that sport (which is how it works in practically any job). If you’re all in for absolute equality, then remove the “men’s” and “women’s” segregation and combine the two. See how that goes.

Traditionally speaking, in sports, that’s not how it’s broken down. People whine all the time how pro athletes make X amount per game. They don’t include practices, gym hours, media time, etc.

What are you talking about? There are lots of US stars for one.
