I didn’t see the first two sets, when Thiem was apparently playing his best tennis of the day. But even in the third and fourth sets, I thought Thiem was playing really well. It seemed like every rally, Thiem would hit two or three shots that would have been winners against anyone else. Nadal was just on another

Yep.  I will be shocked if he plays this series.

Lebron’s retweet is BS. Nobody’s getting arrested for shoving someone else like that. If Lowry went to Stevens’ office and shoved him, most likely scenario is Lowry is told to leave and that’s the end of it. If he won’t leave and the cops have to come, they would escort Lowry away, but most likely would not arrest

Let’s say two hours of my lost wages is about $100. If I were to “assault” somebody who worked for my competitor exactly like Mark Stevens “assualted” Lowry, $100 would still be excessive.  So there!

I really, really doubt it.

I get that, but it still seems excessive to me for what I would characterize as a light shove. If he said something truly vulgar (as in worse than the normal trash talk obscenities), then maybe.

Depending on what he said, I can agree with that.  But it would have had to have been pretty bad.

$500,000 and a year ban for that “shove?”  I don’t care how rich he is, that’s pretty crazy.

Iggy only made one all-star team? Dude’s been criminally underrated his whole career. Anyway, if you want to say Curry is only running with two other Allstars instead of his normal four, fine.  Point is, they are still running some pretty good players out there.

Three all-stars, right?  Green, Cousins and Iggy?  Obviously, Iggy is past his prime, and Cousins is coming off an injury.  But still.  These are very good players.

I was going to say Voldemort...

Absolutely!

You might be right. No matter how well Kawhi plays, the Raptors probably can’t win this unless a couple of other guys knock down their open looks. I’ll be curious if Warriors adjust by not sending as much help to Kawhi.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence either. The simplest, most obvious answer is that the players have overvalued themselves and are demanding too much, so no team wants to sign them.  When their demands come down into reasonable territory, some team will pay them.

I was surprised when I looked at the box score and saw that.  It sure felt like he turned the ball over more than that.  But I mostly agree with you.

“Stupidly” might be a little harsh, but just a little. There were multiple times where he dribbled straight into double teams. And I swear, a couple of times, he dribbled right into a triple team. Maybe it was the right thing to do, because by forcing the defense to collapse on him, his teammates got better looks.

but it’s good to know that you’re on the side of the owners.

Oh please. Owners shouldn’t overpay players just because they can afford it. I’m fine with players making hundreds of millions if they’re worth it. The fact that no owner wants to pay these guys means they are not worth whatever they are demanding.

Yeah, so I obviously didn’t think that through all the way. But if Boston can’t lose a pick, then the only reason they would have for not resigning Kimbrel is because they don’t think he’s worth whatever he is asking. And it seems that every other team in MLB agrees with them. Or, for them, Kimbrel is not worth what

Admittedly, I didn’t make it all the way through the article. But as I was reading the first half of it, I kept wondering what these guys were demanding. I have a hard time believing that the only (or even primary) reason Boston hasn’t re-signed Kimbrel is because it will lose the 138th pick.  And if it is, Boston is
