When I read stories about Kapernick, I always wonder how much he was demanding. I always got the impression that Kapernick believed he was a starter and was demanding starter money. If he would have accepted backup money, would he have a contract?

My advice if you want to have money for investing - don’t have kids.

This is a good point.  Murray was every bit as much of a freak as those guys, just not in such an easily noticeable way.

My favorite part of that is at 1:00 when Lopez hits the slowest step-back,  fade-away 3 I’ve ever seen.

Came here to point this out.  He bear hugs him and then tackles him to the ground.  If that’s not holding, I don’t know what is.  Doesn’t mean the Colts offensive line didn’t manhandle the Texans (they did).  But this highlight maybe isn’t the best example to use.  Good point about scouting the officials.

I thought you had to be wrong about this. Surely he’s made at least one three-pointer in his career. Nope. He took 11 last year. Made 0. He hasn’t even taken a 3 this year.  How is that possible?  Doesn’t he occasionally have the ball at the end of the quarter and heave a 3?

Another thing that makes Lebron’s quote a little more interesting, and which is mentioned in Windbag’s article, is that Davis hired Lebron’s agent and good buddy Rich Paul this offseason.

The link isn’t working for me. I’m having a really hard time understanding how this can possible be the worst call “on record,” even if “on record” only goes back 7 years.  People can disagree with it, but the logic seems sound to me.  And it almost worked.  They just needed another 15-20 yards to get into FG range

I think she was just drunk.  If you watch the video in slo-mo, it doesn’t look like her head hits anything.  May have gotten a some whip-lash though.

I kind of agree. It seems like he made contact with Ottinger three times. The first time he shoves her, kind of hard, but just a shove. She’s shoving him too, for whatever that’s worth. So this first seems like no big deal. The second time is the most violent, but it’s hard to tell what happened. He’s coming around

Nice to see Holiday get some love. I was blown away by his performance against the Blazers in the playoffs last year. He and Kawhi seem to be very similar players.

I love the way Cam Newtons acts like he is going to throw a block, and then jumps out of the way at the last second.

He looks better to me than he ever has, or maybe I’d forgotten how good he is. Against the Celtics a couple of weeks ago, Kawhi started off cold from the floor, but he still looked like he was the best player out there. Then he started knocking down his shots in the 3rd quarter, and it was jarring to me how much

This is a very good point. It’s not like it was an obvious bad call. That pitch was right down the middle. It was as low in the outside corner of the strike zone as you can get, the catcher was set up far outside, and then he jerked the ball up to try to frame it. Blame the catcher more than the ump on that one.

My kids call it the pterodactyl.

I could barely watch the ninth inning. It just felt like Kimbrel was going to blow it. Benitendi’s got some clankers. Even Jackie Jr said after the game that he probably should have played it safe and kept the ball in front of him.

I’ve heard about this.

Even though Federer might be my favorite athlete of all time, I have become skeptical of aging athletes who start to show the natural decline of age only to suddenly dominate like they did when they were in their primes. In the last two years, Federer, Nadal and Djokovic have all done just that. How long before we

Didn’t watch the game, but that strike zone plot that’s linked in the article sure makes it looks like he called a pretty good game.
