I have to think what happened is that Blizzard saw that Symmetra had a 60+% win rate at competitive, saw that it was because her turrets were mowing down people and nerfed the damage and called it a day.

It’s because McCree’s primary is a hitscan. That naturally puts him in a precarious situation in terms of buffing and nerfing because he’s one of a few characters who can aim and directly hit what he’s aiming at.
You market products internationally? Wow, I’m supposed to believe random internet user about this, all the while having to ignore his blatant appeal to authority logical fallacy, assuming he/she even does 1/10 of what he/she claims he/she does.
Statistics devoid of context are bunk.
Not even remotely the same thing.

Depends. If your friend pirated the copy, then there is no difference.
Wow, did I piss in your cheerios today?
The economy of marketing is no different to video games than any other piece of media out there.
We have evernessence who directly said “When someone torrents something they are simply making a copy of a copy of probably another copy. You know what those copies cost CPR? Nothing. After the first copy they are wasting 0 resources propagating it.”
Sadly we have no way of knowing, because it’s not like Pirate Bay or any other torrenting site keeps track of how long a user played a game or listened to music.
Because that’s a wholely subjective criteria and makes no sense. Why should you get to utilize the product, for free mind you, and then decide whether or not it is worth the price of admission?
Change the media, result is the same.
While B) does happen, the conversion rate is much smaller than people are willing to let on. Some studies have it around 10%, if that.
It’s a mixed bag.
