I remember being ambivalent when I saw it in the theater. Didn’t hate it, didn’t love it, but it was something that stuck with me. The more I thought about it, the more I really grew to appreciate it. It’s now one of my favorite super hero movies. It has a level of substance that I think a lot of other ones lack.

Lee’s Hulk wasn’t even really a superhero movie. Other than beating up some radiated dogs

Nick Nolte literally eats the scenery at one point.

I adore the film as well. I especially like how well it fits in with the rest of Ang Lee’s canon—the idea that keeps recurring in his films that you can only be at peace and be your true self when you are in a natural environment, far from civilization.

Ang Lees Hulk is the great noble failure of superhero movies. A little early on the cgi, but as laid out here, a meditation on anger attempting something more profound than superhero movies have expectations for. I mean, its not the best vehicle for a meditation on anger even if thats what you want to see, but I app

The deep green hulk color is just too much. I’m glad the current MCU hulk is turned down a little. Better cgi helps as well.

Completely agree on League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. The trailer made me want to punch someone and I’ve never felt that way before. As soon as I saw they’d made Mina an actual vampire and not the leader my blood boiled.

I’d rather watch this grandiose failure than several of the MCU’s successes.

This movie is a masterpiece.

Much more excited about this than the second season of American Gods.

... I feel bad for you, seriously.

Same here wewont eat at people’s homes ever. Its very rare because of how they live. Filthy house..bacteria ridden hands and gawd knows what is in the kitchen where food is prepared. We simply do not eat anywhere but atchome 99.99% of the time. People do nasty shit with their hands and even in restaurants if their

In ~February of 1989 I was in AIT at Fort Sam Houston for my medical specialist training and we spent an entire day on hand washing, including a final exam which of course you had to pass. The thing about washing hands isn’t to protect yourself, it’s to protect others. Everything you touch, however lightly or brief,

Yeah, washing your hands prevents the spread of bacteria to others and your surroundings. Those who are giving you stars are also disgusting people... probably all the burner accounts, too. Conservatives counting on God to protect them from germs.

I begged my father to take me to this. I think I may have even threatened to run away from home. That’s how big a deal this movie was when I was a kid. I was about 10 or so, and as a lover of most things, no matter how stupid (Hi, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III), it really says something about how awful this film

“you knew this house of cards was going to crumble. White women are craven and selfish and lack any self awareness. I knew the minute some white women were getting more attention than other white women, they would get mad as hell and self destruct in some fashion and derail whatever momentum that was going on”

Most of dystopian fiction is putting White people in a future that has already come, gone, and is still here for Black folks. Look at books like The Hunger Games where you have White people rebelling against a rich evil class. The Handmaiden’s tale is Black women’s story from all around the world. Their bodies used

WONDERFUL piece. And you knew this house of cards was going to crumble. White women are craven and selfish and lack any self awareness. I knew the minute some white women were getting more attention than other white women, they would get mad as hell and self destruct in some fashion and derail whatever momentum that

Brilliant post, LooseSeals. Dead on and tastefully incisive.
