Oh, hell, that's incredible.
This is almost certainly the right move. Unlike so many complex news stories, the more we find out, the worse it looks - period. These waters aren't getting muddier.
Just got confirmation that the John L. Toner Award given by the National Football Foundation & College Football Hall of Fame to the top athletic administrator in the country will be vacated this year. Penn State AD Tim Curley had previously been announced as the winner. All references to Curley have been scrubbed…
And the daughter of the MVP of Super Bowl XXVI threw that pass, if I'm not mistaken.
Agreed. I was waiting for the "attack." I didn't hear it. He said some things without really passing judgment on whether the current rule is better or worse.
Great piece. Thanks for injecting some sanity into what understandably becomes a knee-jerk call for near-vigilantism. We all realize these allegations are horrendous. Given the breadth of them and the eyewitness evidence, they are almost absolutely certainly true.
Agree completely. "Great game" is not necessarily equal to "high-scoring game." Bama-LSU didn't have a touchdown, but there were some great defensive plays to offset some hidden offensive gems that aren't reflected in the final score. My only knock on the game was that the special teams were pretty bad at times. …
If the opposing team found the Bernie to be "sexually suggestive," I can only assume Perry Hall was playing their rival Dulaney Hall Necrophiliacs.
Thanks for the link - that's actually kind of scary.
Serious question - Why does this warrant this kind of action by ESPN - I mean from ESPN's perspective? I understand terms of service violations, but if there's no profanity, etc, why would ANY comment in the form of "______ > Tebow" be grounds for deletion? Does ESPN even know why it's fighting this? Or are they…
This is also a nod to his Wrestlemania opponent / "unlikely" Survivor Series tag team partner, John Cena. He's referred to Cena in the past as looking like "a bowl of Fruity Pebbles" due to Cena's ever-changing but always colorful t-shirts.
That's a round of 59 in the clubhouse. Short of attacking the player you just downed with a dirty hit while he's on the ground (or something involving a concealed weapon), that one is going to be mighty hard to top.
+1. Wow, that is some rock-solid business right there.
I liked it, too, but didn't he do the same thing the year his dad died? I'm not knocking it at all, just pointing out that this has been a tribute he's executed previously. Incredible game.
Agree with all you listed, plus Game 7 of the '97 World Series was also pretty intense. I would put this ahead of some of those, but they're all within striking distance and debatable. Only knock on this game was the brutal defensive play at times (mostly early).
Wow. Incredible. Can't ask for much more in a baseball game.
Not shown: Dennis Carter jumping out of a wheelchair just before this play happened, revealing his injury to be a fake after all.
Dude, a bro's got to find ways to fill his days until Uncharted 3 comes out, bro.
My only thought is: God, that Miami team was fucking awesome.
