it looks like during the Sony/Marvel Spider-man deal Marvel got partial rights to the films in exchange for Sony getting exclusive rights to the video games.

What you won’t see in this clip is that, at the end of Sony’s entire presser, there was a short extra sequence showing that Miles Morales, who in the comics took over as Spider-Man from Peter Parker following his death in 2011, will also be in the game.

I’m curious as to how Sony was able to convince Marvel/Disney to cut out so many gamers just so they could have the exclusive on this. Yes, I’m sure they own the rights to games, but that’s a lot of lost revenue. It looks fun, but it doesn’t look like a game that’s gonna sell the system.
