The words that struck me so deeply are the truth - Depression is a liar. A really capable one. It is also a thief, it steals the joy and flavor of life, always diminishing, always staining, always corrupting and twisting. Worst of all, it becomes a drug. There is a unique emptiness in depression that expands,

At the time of our divorce it was after seven years you would owe permanent alimony. This was reformed two years ago so that it cannot exceed the duration of the marriage. We were married 24 years so the reform doesn’t help me. My friends and family are more pissed off than I am over it. It is what it is even if it

Fucking A right!

Sid Meier’s Pirates!

Better method for chopping onions. Bonus: You’ll love his nuts.

This is why beta-readers - blunt, honest committed ones - are so vital to a story’s success. It is similar to proofreading. We are so close to the story we miss things. The author’s mind has a bad habit of filling in the blanks automatically. A good beta reader sees holes immediately, a great one points them out

Hmmmm - posted the same day as How to Weaponize a Nerf Blaster. Coincidence? I think NOT!

This is all such bullshit. There is a simple rule to voting:

Ren & Stimpy and Rocko’s Modern Life are still two of my all time favorite animated series. I watched them with my then infant son. This parenting continued with exposing him to Futurama and Aqua Teen Hunger Force. One brilliant happy day my efforts were rewarded when he came over and said, “Dad you HAVE to watch

That was the first hockey game I ever watched in my life and why I am a NJ Devils fan. That is one of the greatest matches in any sport I have ever had the joy of viewing. As each OT passed the tension cranked tighter and tighter. I was so pissed when they lost.

Its ok man, I live one town over from east Rutherford and we didn’t see any money but got all the troubles but NYC? That was Super Bowl central for weeks. Same thing for Santa Clara - all the trouble none of the cash.

This strategy is ancient. I first came across it back in 1976 when I read a book called “1000 Ways to Win at Monopoly”.

I picked this up on a Steam sale and haven’t regretted the impulse buy for a minute. After an hour of gameplay I gifted a copy for my son who is a Minecraft addict.

I actually love the slow burn, anticipating a big bang at the end. This series has me really hoping the Luke Cage series people are watching because if they decide to play “oh yeah watch THIS!” we could be in for a new era of amazing martial arts entertainment.

Also Midway contains entire air combat sequences from Tora! Tora! Tora!

Now if she also smells like a ghoul THEN I’d be impressed. ;)

I don’t know - while all have been over the top, some have been far more cartoony than others. The most ‘realistic’ in the series is From Russia With Love, my personal favorite of them all, but closely followed by Goldfinger and Thunderball. I liked Casino Royale (both versions - Niven and Craig) but absolutely hated

Yes.

That is how my grandmas made them - squashed flat with a dash of salt to finish. It is how I make them to this day. Instant childhood.

I am a huge fan of all things werewolf and when I first read The Skin Trade I was so blown away, I immediately read it again. To this day it is my all time favorite werewolf story. When I heard it may be made into a movie though, I secretly hoped it would fail because damn, the novella is perfect as is.
