No, I think that some people’s offense is overblown relative to the offense and the actual result. That opinion isn’t changing.

That’s a hypocritical thing to say. You’re offended by other people’s offense, and yet you haven’t closed the browser. That makes me think that it’s not about moving on from being offended, it’s about whether or not they’re offended about something you agree with.

Eh, you’re underestimating the number of women who are annoyed by stuff like this without being incredibly offended.

It’s not harmless, though. These “jokes” about stereotypes, even when they’re meant ironically, contribute to stereotype threat and confirm the prejudices of people who actually believe those stereotypes. You can call it out without considering it to be the actions of a “real enemy.”
