She is welcome to try that with me anytime and the consequences are not the kind that she would walk away from.

Yeah, the aggressor as victim. Be Black and try to pull that off!

Seriously!

In fairness, she’s also got that whole armed, belligerent and yet somehow still unfairly attacked thing going for her, too.

MTG is just another white lady who thinks she has the right to get into someone’s face because her white femininity will protect her. I’m not sure consequences work on such an ingrained belief — MTG has been taught that nothing is holier or more right than what a white woman “feels” and “believes.” Her election has

They’re literally taught to be afraid all the time and treat civilians like they’re enemy fighters.

IIRC that’s from Obama’s latest book, where he talks with Sen Grassley about trying to get buy-in. Probably the ACA, not sure. But yeah they went through Grassley’s whole list of proposed amendments and after going through all of them, Obama asked him if there was *anything* Democrats could do to get his vote, and he

You can recruit the best people in the world but as soon as they enter police training they BECOME bad apples. And that’s because it’s the CULTURE that’s the problem, not the individuals. Recruitment is not going to fix the problem, Rep. Clyburn. That’s like slapping a Band-Aid over a sucking chest wound.

IIRC, there is a story running around that when Obama was trying to get ACA through, he met GOP senators twice and had changes drafted with his party to meet GOP demands.

Oh, Republicans are promising bipartisan support if you toss out the most important part of your bill?

I think you’re looking at it from a much higher level than I am. Or than I can; I’m not a football fan. I see it in a similar way as sigmapapi above. Some schools are football schools, so they get football players. Alabama for instance. HBCU focus more on education, less on sports. So they get less football players.

You’re right, I definitely meant that in the sense that the FBI straight-up ordered it, and the Chicago PD carried it out.

It wasn't even a state-sanctioned murder. It was just the State murdering him.

Lets be clear: Fred Hampton wasn’t killed in a police raid. That was a death squad.

I’m not the first one to say this, but Hampton’s state-sanctioned assassination is one of those moments in world history when you’d expect time travelers to show up to try to prevent it.

Now playing

Lot of white smoke coming out a furnace chimney at Quantico this weekend, I guess; and I don’t think they are choosing a new pope. Or the Britcom explanation, at the 2:39 mark.

You are absolutely correct: dead or long retired. However, the repercussions of releasing that information would be too much of a statement regarding the lengths that the US government took to suppress the Civil Rights movement in this country. If this happened 50 years ago, what else has the government been doing on

Since it was 50 years ago, I gotta suspect that anyone who was involved has long retired, and most of them are probably also dead by now.

Oh yeah, plenty of those left of Republicans have no desire to let this see the light of day either.

It will never happen.  To admit that would open a rabbit hole as wide as the Grand Canyon.
