Aside from the money one has to invest I can’t see the game working out too well. Everything apart from Japan is just so spaced out (Europe and Australia for example) that the GPS probably won’t work too well which will impact how much people and how much money they spend on it. Will try it out anyway!

What he expects is a different level of quality. A level that isn’t reached anymore, because studios dictating the outcome, trying to save money in the process lose a lot of potential quality, not to mention that artists are required to create a certain style nowadays.

He has a good point. Anime nowadays is barely worth anyone’s time anymore. Fan service en masse, lack of compelling story telling, even the art is cheap.

I had to laugh at the comment saying that the characters in Attack on Titan were foreigners. Typical racial stereotype in Japan. Give him a foreign name and suddenly he is a foreigner.

That’s the aspect I like about Pokemon. There are a ton of flaws the show has and it doesn’t work very well for serious, grounded adults but that’s why it’s aimed at kids, however, my point is that it would be terribly odd if a 10 year old would ace all the Regional Battles year in year out, no? That sort of realism

that’s why it’s probably going to fail in the West. He is too normal to be intriguing in any sense, plus the universe is so fixated on Japanese culture and hidden jokes that it will take a lot of patience and inside knowledge to find a liking.

Late to the party, but I can understand your point of view very well. I also stopped playing Pokemon after Crystal as it reached the peak and I changed interests as a kid when the Gameboy Advance and Ruby/Sapphire came out. Given the updated graphics and some new mechanics I joined again for Black/White, but soon gave

exactly. Late to the party, but the blue shell argument is boring. Also the comparison listed by RGSuperSonic is highly subjective and his name doesn’t make me think he is very impartial.

I feel Mario Kart 7 is perfect for players who don’t necessarily care about winning, especially playing online or in the 50cc class. I mean perhaps I’m far from being a really skilled gamer, but the first few hours into playing MK7 I was motivated and really tried to win every single race. After a while it nearly ate

Interesting I never thought of it as a power belt but more like a trophy belt like a Heavyweight Boxer or Wrestler carries after winning a big fight.

That’s probably gonna be it. Nintendo’s highest grossing sales come off handhelds and handheld series, especially Pokemon.
