Fair point, but the author of the article isn't bothered primarily by this kind of rude distraction. He's scoffing and sneering at the idea of so many people loving a band so long after the record was released, a posture I find kinda loathsome, even if I can relate to it.
This article channels the soul of hipsterism purely, and naively. That NMH became beloved wildly beyond expectations is, I suppose, a topic worth noting. But the response to the topic of the author and most of those interviewed is tacitly something like, "It's a shame because I knew them first." Humblebrag. Scoffing…
