I think Peter's idea is to overcome the Observers by becoming one (so to speak) but he assumes he will retain his human feelings… which may not be true. This is the equivalent of him downing a dangerous potion in hopes of gaining superpowers.

This episode was bold, which is what I expect from Fringe (and which we weren't really getting so far this season). Well done, Joel Wyman.

I'd love them to use the window that way, but I doubt they will. It probably was another perfunctory shout-out (though the repurposed Fringe event was not just a shout-out, it was actually cool)

Parenthood IS a fucking nightmare.

Seasion 3 was about a possible war between universes. It wasn't about destroying a universe; that wasn't what the Machine was for. The Machine was presumed to be something that could defend our universe against the other one. It was a state of war. I don't know about you, but I find a peaceful resolution…

Why would the Fringe team getting framed for something feel like a culmination of anything that's happened before?

Folks… Walter was stoned when he made the tape. HE gave the wrong coordinates. Olivia was involved in the fight against the Observers back in 2015 and obviously knew what the real coordinates were, which she remembered with her eidetic memory.

I'm not sure if it really counts as a screwup, but on Fringe there has been more than one instance where the prop people put dates on stuff which didn't really match with the narrative.

I think this episode was weak compared to the first two. But let's face it, in a 13-episode final season, below-average episodes seem !!!!WEAK!!!! and better-than-average episodes seem !!!!AWESOME!!!! because everyone, with their emotions running high, thinks a final season has to either end up !!!!PERFECT!!!! or it…
