Oh, don't worry. I believe bragging rights have about as much importance as you give them. I mean, I don't care for bragging rights, but it's totally cool that you care.

Yes on Wii, nay on GCN. Kinda sad, but I guess it keeps manufacturing costs down.

You make a good point, but I still think too much of achievement gaming is fluff content. Making achievements mandatory artificially inflates fluff content.

I support consistent, quality content. With that philosophy, am I supposed to oppose Nintendo's discouraging position on trophies, which I view as padded content? Just because the majority supports it doesn't mean I have to fall in line and accept its existence.

While everyone was doomsaying the 3DS, it still sold respectably. The Vita's surrounded by bad press too, but there's no contradiction in the sales data. It's just not selling well.

Wii U has a positive forecast, Vita doesn't.

Nintendo's new Miiverse thing lets your friends know what games you play, without the use of achievements.

I love 100 percent completion in games... but not by use of filler. I want to complete the game 'cuz I love the gameplay, not 'cuz there's a clutch of boring footnotes the dev wants me to accomplish in order to pad out game time.

That's like telling me to avoid the food on my plate that I don't like. I'd much rather have the option not to have the lima beans on my plate at all, while other peeps can just ask for it.

Hey-o, that's a mean way to put it. I think peeps have bad taste for liking filler, but let's not go insulting them over it.

Ah, I figured 'cuz you responded to my original comment that you took issue with more than just my distaste for achievements/trophies.

Uhuh, and why should these things be mandatory? If there's a studio that thinks they can do 'em right, why not just integrate them into the game as opposed to the system itself?

I'm against them being mandatory, but trashy devs can add them if their game isn't long enough without 'em. It lengthens the game, but not with any actual content.

It adds... FLUFF to the experience. Be it hunting for flags in AssCreed or getting a ton of inevitable story-related trophies in God of War 3, I've yet to see a game where trophies are used in an interesting, non-trashy way.

You say you won't, but you will... Eventually. Everyone succumbs to Nintendo.

Project P-100 is looking to be my coup de grĂ¢ce. We already know that's Wii U exclusive, and watching gameplay videos is getting me stoked.

External hard drives, bro. Buy as much data storage as you like.

Oh yay! No system-wide, mandatory achievements! Trophies and achievements are the definition of gaming fluff.

Hey, I'm of the opinion that ties are for penguins. Humans look silly wearing ties.

You were the only one. Well, Flo-Rida was less awful, but Usher was hilariously out of place.
