As it happens, I watched "Monster Buddies," and I can see where you're coming from. Pearl digs Rose herself far more than Rose's tendency to try to help anyone/everyone else…and why wouldn't she? That's time not spent with Pearl. STILL love Pearl, and her fabulous "quirks."

Okay…So I have some observations from the whole Stevenbomb (all five ran concurrently). Not a rant, but I like bullet points…

Undeniably. I'm less worried about implied "Les Yay" (in fact, I'm not worried about it at all) than I am about the implication that Rose is a giant alien slutbucket.

I'm not entirely sure she'd done this before (with humans), or at least not to the same level of intimacy or overt sexuality. She seemed too lost in her back-and-forth with Greg, and too "dignified" to be a big-honkin' slab of Gem honeypie.

I remember reading about the Gems not even having breasts (being that those are secondary gender characteristics). Rose has cleavage. Yes, I noticed. Stop judging me, damnit!

I'm a die-hard Pearl fan, but there's no "waifu" tip happening.

Her third eye is purple, of course, which is a nice touch (it couldn't be any other color, though).

After "Sworn To The Sword" I needed a breather. Sometimes, filler isn't so bad.

I joined up with the A.V. Club (or whatever this happens to be) because of this episode, myself. It walloped me right in the feels. Now I want to keep that up (which means getting fully caught up on the eps I've missed).
