Interesting that you say "It also took the word carel, which their clumsy Anglo-Saxon tongues turned to 'curry.'" But there's no such derogatory adjective attached to "the word curry became gah-lay in Cantonese" or "The popularity of kare raisu (a phonetic approximation from curry rice)." Why?

The bit where Homer uses a cardboard tube to imitate Marge's memory gets me every time.

Always been partial to "Aunty Entity" myself.

I had a very similar experience, reading IT first when it came out (I was in middle school) and then 30 years later as an adult. Works wonderfully in both times of life. Look forward to reading it again!

Here is a link to a post where you can see a better-edited version of "Don't Feed the Plants" here, complete with Levi Stubbs doing the plant voices, as well as the surviving footage from "The Meek Shall Inherit." I really don't know why this stuff showed up online after the blu-ray was released, instead of being

Thank you. Some of the hard cuts in the Director's Cut really irk me.

Funny, I just watched the Director's Cut this past weekend with some people who'd never seen it before. The universal reaction is that it's perfect, yet unbearable, and we can all see why they changed it - however, Director's Cut for the win! And those special effects are incredible!

Makes total sense, and I thought the same thing (SPOILERS) when the creature made straight for Dr. Brenner. I thought "Oooh what if this is a creature from her Id, like in Forbidden Planet?" Or at least, is connected to her mentally somehow.

And so that's the mystery of Marge's vanishing social circle sorted. Sorry, BoJack Horseman guy - Simpsons did it!

I do seem to remember that she hung out with a crew including Milhouse's mom and Agnes Skinner in that pretzel making one.

Yeah…I just got around to watching this season, and I have to say, the unfolding heart / stag is one of the freakiest things I've seen anywhere.

Oh lawd, save us from adjacency!

Yeah, she should be wearing sharp suits, with a bustier under, that kind of thing. A butch look with the femme face would have been more on point and unexpected.

Just in the interests of pedantry, this is NOT a filmed stage production. Fox does not hold any rights to the stage musical (Richard O'Brien owns those), so this is a remake of the movie screenplay. Don't be confused by the fact that they're setting it in a theater filled with Rocky Horror fans.

Well thank goodness they didn't change the lyrics to "Sweet Transvestite."

Love the cocktail piano arrangement of Patsy Cline's "Heartaches" that plays at the top of the scene.

I agree, Pecker was an awesome movie.

You could see her clenching her jaw and biting her tongue. That long pause where they just went "fum fuh" was painful. I was yelling at the screen for Silverman to just go off on them. I really wish she had.

As a person with a remote control, you don't have to!

Let's hope for plenty of DVD bonus scenes!
