Everybody should check out the "first draft" of this song ("Stark Raving Love"), from Jim Steinman's only solo album. The riff sounds amazing to me here, and the play-out where Todd Rundgren and Davey Johnstone trade guitar solos is incredibly epic.

I thought it was gutsy (and funny) to end the movie on the joke call-back with the lens cap.

Holy fishballs, I just noticed there is a silver 1960s Dalek in the lower-left hand side of the screen at 0:23!

Sure - but in this scenario, she's playing Clara as a young teenager.

Back half of the season is excellent, except for the mis-step of "In the Forest of the Night." Definitely watch it before September.

I think it's much more likely that she's another Clara fragment.

This comment begs for a follow-up. Do tell more about said…situation.

Yeah, I agree about Ember - there was something to that. Pity it never really took off.

Great! I'll do the same.

Well DVD scheduling is a coy mistress, for sure, but most of those broadcast do eventually find their way to home video. I'd love a copy myself.

Shostakovitch wrote an opera of it, which was recently filmed for the Metropolitan Opera and shown on PBS. It should be showing up on home video shortly.

You're totally right! Great observation.

I was glad to find this disc for only $5 at Wal Mart. That's a keeper!

I love that bit! They really are the most incompetent alien villains ever. And the part where they try to conquer the aliens by smashing up their vases and crockery…

Yes, but Sarah wasn't present when the Doctor solved those puzzles - he was in the company of the Exillon native Bellal.

Yeah, and me. The half-nip Patton displays inside "The Real Thing" was a formative moment of my adolescence LOL

You win!

"I saw it in the window and just had to have it!"

Fine, I'll say it - I thought Sideburns!Glen was totally hot, and Betty totally missed out! "I'm married," indeed.

I actually found this to be the most satisfying episode of the season so far. It finally fleshed out Elroy and Frankie and made them feel integrated into the group, and the Rick/Britta plot I found very enjoyable. Plus Billy Zane as the shill-master! Great stuff.
