Quintet and Damnation Alley? Now there's a double bill. One of the best double bills I saw in the 70s was obviously put together by someone at Fox with a sense of humour - Prime Cut and MASH.

'A spray that makes everything smell like a different ass'. So, Axe?

Since I am an old git I'll slightly turn the question round and say how great it was to see some pics in cinemas which never turn up except in the most adventurous rep houses. Seeing Mario Bava pics, Argento giallos and Fulci bloodbaths on the big screen in 35mm was an absolute disreputable treat. To see Bava Jr's

Wonder Woman. Missed it yesterday and now everything about it is soooooooooo last Thursday.

Emile Hirsch and bouts of sudden violence? Sounds about right.

The name won't be familiar to most but he had an extraordinary career and was responsible for some major productions and the careers of some very big names. RIP Mr. Grey.

Great shame, he was fantastic in Marlowe, Private Eye, an amazingly underrated British series ripe for rediscovery. RIP Mr. Boothe.

No, that was Father Ted.

*throws sandwich in bin….*

Or failing that, Looking Glass (please; please)

Ena Baga & Her Happy Hammond (look that one up….)

Yep, well worth a listen.

Giger. (Slaps self for pedantry)

Good interview with Scott on the BBC Radio 4 Film Programme on Thursday where he discussed his use of practical effects and sets. Sure you can find it online.

Now available extra crispy!

It's more his Maximum Risk.

Saw it yesterday. Largely agree with IV, and it certainly gripped me, even if I saw the final twist coming from quite a distance. It looks superb and has some very fine performances, particular from Fassbender; Waterston and Danny McBride, who I usually can't stand in any form. May actually take it in again

Okay, wind it up, that'll do, the Colonel wins today's muffin basket. Damn good work, Col. See you all tomorrow, bright and early. Bring your A Game, folks. Sleep well.
