Sia’s Christmas album is pretty much a classic from start to finish. I also love that her habit of ‘party-sounding songs that have kind of depressing lyrics that no one pays attention to’ means that ‘Ho Ho Ho’ is used in a bunch of commercials from ad execs that don’t know better.

“Buy cozy winter fashions at Target!”

I thought the same, but the reviewer makes a good point...when being hunted, even a few seconds makes a difference. I tend to confirm GPS directions by looking at street signs as GPS directions aren’t always 100% accurate.  Also if you are in a neighborhood like that and have short streets that may only run a few

Sia deserves credit for making an album of nearly 100% original Christmas music in the 21st century, and almost all of it being great, which pretty much nobody else has done. And the only cover on it is a pretty obscure one I’ve never heard before.

Why wait to binge?  Cliffhangers are almost meaningless while binging. You definitely appreciate them more when you don’t have a choice but to wait....and I’ve found people tend to remember and appreciate shows much better when they’re aired over several weeks.  I think this is why Netflix ends up cancelling shows

I’ve made myself not binge shows for this very reason.  I don’t wait a week, mind you, but at the very least a day, and usually two or three depending on the show.  I’ve found it’s very easy to gloss over or not notice under-appreciated or important moments while binging.  When I get a chance to discuss a show or read

To call Tillman’s outfit a cult diminishes it in one important sense. The whole “constitutional sheriff” act is an all too real phenomenon in the US and is a source of serious local corruption, even tyranny in more rural parts of the country, and is deeply connected with white nationalist and “patriot movement”

As one of the people who worked on Golden Bachelor, this is the case. The ladies are tough and get through just fine.

The last scene was actually terrifying, right before the credits. Definitely left me in suspense for next week.

The implication of the critique here is that older people should not be allowed to date in real life either as they can no longer handle the ups and downs of romance. These folks are probablly not as fragile emotionally as implied here. They’ve already survived through a lot of crap in their lives.

The creepy song playing while Ole lay in bed with the giant knife, newspapers, and red lights was from the score of the Shining, btw.

Also, the Lyon’s address is 1219... 13

Was fun to see Clare Coulter show up in this one. Still not okay with Three Pines getting cancelled.

Even if you’re 500 years old, when times are tough, you can always move back in with your mom.

Pretty much.  They couldn't make the kid from Stranger Things a bigger MAGA douchbag if they tried.  Don't Tread On Me snake on top of a Confederate flag with ninja sais, sexy pin ups and Michael Meyers while yelling I'm a winner?  DW Griffith would have said be more subtle but nowadays, subtlety is kind of a dead art

The day I meet a historian who isn't a nerd, well that'll be the day

Two quick notes. I hate to be “that girl” but 1520s is not the Middle Ages. Usually its considered to have ended in 1453 with the end of the 100 Years War and the Fall of Constantinople. In Britain the death of Richard III in 1485 and the end of the War of the Roses is the end. Columbus in 1492 is the latest you can

Dot’s first husband & mother-in-law seem like two peas in a pod.

If the first two episodes are any indication, this is gonna be excellent. Great to have Fargo back.

Anna and the Apocalypse is definitely worth watching. It’s the best Christmas zombie musical I’ve ever seen.

Concerning lack of John Denver & The Muppets
