35mm film also shines here since the native quality can go up to 8k. I think 4k is enough myself. Planet Earth II looks beautiful in 4k. Yeah, see CGI costs too damn much to try getting it to 8k right now. Or even 4k. I’m not sure of the full technicalities of film, but know a film like Lawrence of Arabia is 8k ready.

Movies are going to look like crap in 8k and beyond right now. Especially newer ones. Most are just filmed in 2k. Rarely reaching 4k. This is getting out of hand.
