“If shorting becomes illegal I don’t see much getting in the way of everything becoming a bubble.”
There are almost certainly some deep pockets in on this (why wouldn’t they be, it’s insane value) that we don’t know about but don’t downplay the impact of Reddit. Its only hitting sites like Kotaku now but this shit has been at the top of the r/all (essentially the front page of Reddit for those unfamliar) everyday…
Exactly. They are down playing this as “internet lulz” but it’s actually really well thought out financial strategy. They identified stocks that were ripe for a short squeeze and then organized it. Its fucking awesome and even though GME was a unique situation hedge funds should be terrified of shorting anything right…
I follow r/WSB thought about dumping some money in last friday because it was almost certainly going to explode on Monday but I just don’t care that much. I’m lucky enough to be financially comfortable and I don’t need the stress of day trading even if it’s an amazing trade.
Dont buy the “OMG, memes!” narrative. This was actually pretty savy investing. People identified a stock that was EXTREMELY vulnerable to a short squeeze and made it happen through the power of the internet.

I has nothing to do with “bugs”. They honestly don’t bother me at all. In fact I think they get too much attention. What bothers me, and what should be getting more attention, is the game is just poorly designed/unfinished at the basic levels.
The fact that the combat is ridiculously unbalanced, the AI is laughably bad and there are many things/systems in the game that literally don’t work or don’t matter has nothing to do with “hype”. Are you saying that because you didn’t follow the the hype that some how the police system, for example, is not hilariously…
They literally don’t know how to use stairs lmao
Right?. The AI is, for all intents and purposes, the back bone of a game like this. It affects combat, NPC’s, traffic, all the way down to how the in game world works in general. and he’s just like “well yeah, but what ELSE is wrong? Haha.
You need to play more games then, man.
Really dude? lol. Let me just quote one thing (of many) from CDPR pre release promotion.
I co-sign absolutley all of this. Besides the bugs and visual glitches it still has a TON of other systemic issues that are not going to be possible to fix short of just remaking the game.
Its crashed literally 50 times on my PS5 and at least 3 side missions are bugged for me.
Pretty much every gun in the game is a cheat mode. You can literally stand outside a building and snipe everyone through walls with zero risk. The combat is hillariously unbalanced/broken.
People who think this game is going to have a big turnaround are going to be very disappointed I suspect. They will eventually get the bugs ironed out (not quickly at this rate) but the biggest problem is that it’s just a really shallow game where like half the stuff doesn’t really matter.
My biggest problem (and the reason why I’m not super optimistic about these patches) is that the game is just fundamentally broken. And I don’t mean “visual bugs and crashes” broken I mean “half the systems in the game don’t mean anything” broken. I’m not sure how they fix that with patches.

It so refreshing to see political memes you can laugh at and not make you want to hang yourself in the garage.
Surely you are not actually comparing reading a book to things like instagram, snapchat, Facebook etc etc.
