Sorry, James Bond is not a positive portrayal of masculinity. He’s a callous murderer, borderline sociopath who uses women like they are disposable fleshlights. He is probably the most anochranistic portrayal of toxic masculinity that still somehow hasn't faded into obscurity where it belongs.

This was a flavorful and complimentary bouquet. Might I suggest this as a chaser?

What the actual fuck are you talking about?  You are aware that M. was played by a woman not a drag queen for seventeen years and seven films, and I didn’t notice any shortage of 007's trademark macho shooting, punching, blowing shit up, boozing and shagging.

Have you read the Fleming books? Bond is not a positive highlight for masculinity. He’s a drug abusing assassin, who, among other features, likes sex with one woman because her personal issues makes it a pseudo rape.

“At least one.” Are you high? Us white guys have and are still the dominant drivers of most creative outlet. Women are half of humanity and have a right to half the spotlight. You’re precious male ego is crying over a little bit of change, while the scales are still massively unbalanced towards us.

I’m a straight white

There should totally be a network named WET tough. That'd be hilarious.

OMG, we white men are not top dogs look anymore and have to share some of our toys from time to time!!! Sure, we’re getting 6 live-action super-movie this year, and 5 of those star men, 3 star white men, and the 6th one star both a white man and a white woman. All 6 of thos were written and directed by men as well. But

Well, considering that the female characters have pretty much been eye-candy, sexualized, and basically had no character other than “hot and works with Bond”.... having them be more “front-and-centre” could easily mean a variety of things....

also, didn’t AvP take place in antarctica

were those just cold weather preds

First and foremost, The Predator makes a huge deal that the aliens want to take over the Earth because of climate change. The idea is Earth is heating up, eventually rendering it inhabitable, and their species thrives in that kind of environment.

The Fast and the Furious? Harry Potter? Mission: Impossible? Bourne? Transformers? The MCU? Star Wars? Jurassic Park?  Pirates of the Caribbean?  Deadpool?  The DCU?

just because something seems a way doesn’t mean that’s how it is, you absolute loser.

Can’t men have just ONE film series that highlights masculinity in a positive way?

Pretty sure the Bond films haven’t ever given us a positive picture of masculinity. Guy’s a twat, always has been.

It seems like us men, especially us white men, have lost a lot in the last decade.

Evans really did get the hardest part out of all the core Avengers. RDJ got to have fun playing a drunken sarcastic Howard Hughes, but Evans got the white bread babyface that can end up being extremely boring and uninteresting, but made that shit work.

I assume the character of Bond himself will still be rugged and masculine in the next movie, just like he’s been for the last 50 years.

First of all, if Supergirl, the movie, is set on the 1970s, and Wonder Woman 1984 is in the 80s, how are we supposed to believe that when Superman showed up in Man of Steel that nobody had ever seen a superpowered superhero before in the DCEU?

its more like 12% of a shirt.

Ugh, those Johnny English films. I can’t believe they have such an avid following. “Spy Mr Bean” really never worked, but I guess poor ol’ Rowan needs a new Aston Martin.
