Echoing the structure of a past work is a literary device, not a rip-off. I am perfectly happy with seeing an original story that echoes the structure of The Empire Strikes Back. I appreciate the attempt to emulate the structure of past films, while also exploring new ground. It was well done in VII, no matter what…
