It certainly is in stock form, but I’m sure you know it can be easily bulletproofed with some mild wrenching.

Why did I read this in the same badass sounding movie voiceover like you’d hear in Sin City or The Watchmen?

200K is not low for a 7.3, but it is not high either, only IF taken care of. Sure, the engine may have another 200k in it, but the problem is the whole truck has 200k on it. The seats, the carpet, all the electrical components, the transmission, pumps, injectors, seals, bushings, bearings, corrosion etc.

Definitely a strong point. Those V10's weren’t a slouch either, and they’re much quieter.

No doubt. But that still wouldn’t be able to haul 8 people and their luggage in comfort.

I said low mile...

You cant find a 4x4 diesel (6.0 or 7.3) low mile Excursion for under $20k.

Extremely convoluted but entirely plausible.

Not “might” need one, but “do” need one, and maybe on a regular basis.

But then you’d have to spend money to rent a trailer. Or if you bought one, you’d have to find somewhere to keep the trailer, you’d have to occasionally put new tires on it, pay for it’s registration every year and worry about it’s theft. On top of all that, your car would have to be capable of towing it.

Chicken tax does not apply to the amarok because it has 4 doors and at least 4 seats.

This is literally me.

A car is a big financial decision for the average person, the average person being the majority of people. So large that most people can’t afford multiple cars, so they tend to go with one that will suit their needs best. Electric vehicles check very few boxes on the abilities list.

Interesting point. I tend to wonder what the core is. Such a vast differentiation in logic between these two lineups.

Neutral: Volkswagen can’t even properly focus on core cars (in USA). How can we even begin to believe that they’ll succeed at electric cars?

At least nobody got kneed in the nutmegs.

It all started when I almost bought a uni-tasking carpet shampooer. That’s when it struck me. Why buy this machine that can only do one thing, when I could get a much cheaper and more powerful shop vac, that when combined with a bucket of sudsy water and a stiff scrub brush, could do the same thing, and then go on to

Aaaand here’s what not enough horsepower looks like...
