Remember that Jalopnik piece on how driving a Tesla across the country was a better way because of the charging stops? Perhaps taking the bus could be the same for you.

Thanks for being a good sport! I always train myself to recognize the low hanging fruit.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.
TDI owners: pay close attention!
If you keep up with maintenance, you probably wont have any problems for at least 6-8 years. Carbon buildup happens a lot faster on the early DI engines with poorly designed oil vapor separators. The newer ones like yours are designed better. If it eventually does happen, you have rough idling and difficult starting…

Now you’re bringing back memories of my old 4runner and the URD 7th injector kit I added to the TRD supercharger!
There’s two for sale near me, a G60 and a SLC!
If it wan’t for the pcv, DI engines wouldn’t have much trouble with buildup altogether. Catch cans and such help, but you can’t get all of the oil vapors out of the air.
Finally! Port injectors! Carbon buildup take a hike!
