Maybe Griffin had an unrealistic picture of his own abilities, and maybe the Shanahans did a poor job of shaping an offense to their quarterback rather than the other way around.

I guess it depends on how you define generation, but who else would you put ahead of him during his prime? He was defensive player of the year three years in a row.

Gotta get their bathroom situation sorted.

Well, I agree with your general point, but Matthews has been doing this on national tv for a couple of decades.

Little bit of Shawn Marion, also.

A summer without Kardashian involvement would do wonders.

You know who pays attention to politics in an election year? EVERYONE. Fucking every last grown person knows what the hell is going on.

Stop Trump for Cruz? Go ahead and describe the policy differences between the two.

I think it’s unfortunate, but the way music works now - especially for unknown people trying to raise their profile - is via “viral content.” Every time a song comes out, there’s a race to cover it, get it up on Youtube, and hope a big site writes a, “Hey, check out this cover of ______” article.

That’s a bizarre representation of that bit.

Don’t fall for that rope-a-dope bullshit. I grew up in the middle of a red state. There is nothing magical or noble about these fucking ignorant bigots. They’re dumb and mean. They have every opportunity to learn, it’s just that stupidity of that sort has become their tribal identity.

It probably doesn’t. Earlier in the year, LeBron spoke about his desire to play with those specific people before his career was done. It would require an improbable trade and for at least two of them to sign at below market rates.

I think part of their problem (in championship pursuit sense) is the Blake-DeAndre combo. They just don’t work well in this modern NBA. If DeAndre could make free throws, it may be different, they are really good at passing in limited space, but I don’t think they ever win a championship together.

I know there are a million reasons why it didn’t happen, but from a purely basketball perspective, Griffin for Carmello would have been so entertaining.

Maybe. It sure doesn’t help.

You’d think he would try to sign those guys in the next couple of years, though...

That implies a choice about how to motivate someone to get somewhere. If you’re a stick guy with no destination in mind, you’re just beating a dead horse.

I agree with that, but it would be one thing to be a tough task master who was installing good systems. He’d still be an asshole, but at least you could see why.

I think the (false) belief that such narcissism is essential to being a good artist is exactly why so many artists are narcissistic assholes.

Super exciting.
