In an odd way, St. Elsewhere’s finale gave it a sort of TV immortality. Look at how many different theories and discussion it’s had 35 years after it ended. Had it been a typical finale, it wouldn’t have been remembered. For example, ER was a much more popular and longer lasting medical show. How many people can

One thing that needs to be said about all of these (and a few that aren’t listed, like BSG) is that the common factor for most in making them terrible is not just how much they punted on the implied underlying narrative of the show, but how much that narrative mattered to its previous cohesiveness. In turn, this

Glitch number 1: Zaslav

Regarding negative #4: At least if it was a recording, his kids could have gotten bored and turned it off, sparing us the last two seasons.

Need some Roseanne on this list. The big reveal that Goodman had been fucking DEAD for some time? The most beloved character on the show?? Completely and utterly unnecessary.

Night Court Finale should be on this list. Dan chasing Christine because he is in love with her out of nowwhere. Bull being taken by aliens. Just the shits.

it’s just that their name is taken out of the streaming service to make it look more palatable to the red states, as Zaslav assumes that people would otherwise think that it’s intended specifically for liberal, Northeastern and Californian elites.

I thought it was great. They should have given us a season in prison.

Jesus Christ, we’re still pretending the LOST finale was bad, or ambiguous, or didn’t answer any question you could reasonably have? Get an opinion that isn’t a decade old meme, I’m begging you. One of the GOAT finales. Basically all the common criticisms betray a complete lack of understanding of what actually

My main complaint with the Seinfeld finale is that they made it a clip show. Sure the premise was weak and based on everything Kramer has done to that point it seems like he would have stepped in, but the court room scenes had some very good moments.

agree, 100%! Not perfect but at least interesting therefore, not bad.

Yeah, the idea of putting Seinfeld as number two between Dexter and How I Met Your Mother doesn’t sit right.

Just...don’t subscribe?

HBO is far from self-destructing. It’s actually the division of Warner Bros. Discovery which is the safest at this point, it’s just that their name is taken out of the streaming service to make it look more palatable to the red states, as Zaslav assumes that people would otherwise think that it’s intended specifically

Just don't watch it. Success for you.

The juxtaposition of something like this with the linked and quite thoughtful 2012 AV Club article is a bit jarring.

Fuck, really? There was a while that the hotel I work at was buying new Blu-rays to loan out to our guests, and I swiped the codes from a bunch of them. Time to see what movies I still have.

I have no idea why on earth they would dump the prestigious and legendary part of their name. Is this company being run by clowns?

Also worth noting that WB has quietly been expiring almost all the digital codes that come with most blu-ray releases. A real class act this Zaslav is.

The wild west days of C Band Satellite tv were an absolute boon for us who lived in the boonies! All of a sudden, living in a valley in the middle of nowhere went from MAYBE getting 3 channels of local tv if you were lucky, to getting all the tv everywhere from every corner of the globe (minus the local stations, but
