While I’d like more, I would LOVE to see all of the streamers do this going forward rather than just cancelling shows outright. Complete the story, PLEASE. A movie, a miniseries, SOMETHING.

I will be grumpy about GLOW for the rest of my days.

D’Arcy Carden’s character on this was sort of unlikable, but she is radiant & hilarious. I hate to say I might be sort of looking forward to this ending & her next project where she might get something more interesting to do than make out & bicker with Abbi Jacobson (not that that is inherently uninteresting)

The audience is domestic

I thought that bit during Jenna Ortega’s monologue when they re-edited her tooth brushing commercial from when she was 9 I thought was a subtle plug from the editors about the importance of their job.

The ability to persevere through constant challenge is why she and her show, is so successful.

Banshees was the best movie I saw in 2022 (Still need to seee EEAAO) and would have liked it to get an award but it’s fine. I was glad to see how happy Colin seemed that Frasier won best actor!

I’m not terribly surprised at this outcome. Between Everything Everywhere All at Once and the four movies mentioned for getting shut out—Elvis, The Banshees of Inisherin, TAR, and The Fablemans—only two strike me as the kind of films that will still be in conversations for “best of” lists in 10 or 20 years. Those

In a weaker year, any of these might have won handily, but it’s been a pretty good year for movies, so there’s really no shame in losing to such stellar competition.

I haven’t seen TÁR so I don’t know how good or boring it was, but the fact that it was a box office bomb IMO shouldn’t make a difference at all. I know you’re trying to make a point about how niche it is and how it failed to click with audiences, but it could have just as easily bombed for so many other reasons, and I

“It’s like an allegory for the Irish Civil War, but other than that, there’s not much more to unpack.”

The Fablemens is about generational trauma and a family falling apart. Really recommend actually watching it, it’s far from a feel good story about the movies.

Cartoon Sebastian : Cute, expressive, hilarious. All-timer great character design.

Live action Sebastian : I DO NOT LIKE THE CRAB TALKING TO ME.

Curtis is a great celebrity, and it sounds like from cast mates that she brings a lot to the general support on set, but Bassett and Hsu definitely gave the better performances.

Among other things, this is the first science fiction film ever to win Best Picture.

Now playing

They absolutely have to fix the underwater lighting. They have a movie in their stable that understood exactly what it should look like without the audience feeling like they have to reach for a brightness toggle

Brand synergy!

100 years of Disney, and this is what they do, an add? They could have/should have done a montage (where are all my montages!!!!) to celebrate instead.

They spelled Jenna’s name wrong in the very first sentence of the review. It’s comical.

By the way on Mikey Day, and I realize this is solely due to the characters Day usually plays, but man was I shocked how solid he looks without a shirt on. I had to take a double take that was that actually him.

Ridiculousness is very real. There are days when it plays on MTV for 12 continuous hours — or more. I have only seen it while trapped in places like a car mechanic’s waiting room. I’m so jealous that the writer can be unfamiliar with it. If you’re ever stuck watching to it (or closing your eyes but still having to
