They’re turning over a new leaf: less snark, more slideshows.

It’s a bit rich how derisively the AV Club writes about an organization that snarks on bad movies.

#NeverAgain

How many times has someone attempted a reboot of this? I know Seth MacFarlene was gonna do one but it went nowhere and I think I remember reading about one more but I can’t remember specifics.

.

If someone consistently has the best sales numbers every month, they can get Employee of the Month twelve times a year with no problem. But there’s no objective way of defining the “best” at any award at the Oscars. I happen to think that Yeoh’s performance is slightly better than Blanchett’s, but I can’t be sure

It’s a lot like these “will win vs should win” videos that the AV Club keeps posting this week. I think Cate Blanchett had the best pure performance this year (even though I didn’t much care for Tar) but if I was voting I would vote for Michelle Yeoh to win because she also did great but in a movie I actually enjoyed.

I suspect that as soon as the service is through airing S2 of Perry Mason, S4 of Barry and the back half of S4 of Doom Patrol, I’m going to bail. There hasn’t been any particularly enticing new content coming from HBO in the past six months and I’m not about to pay out $15 for Discovery’s back catalog of “reality”

From an outsider’s perspective, this entire merger seems like a disaster in the making. HBO Max currently has clearly the best streaming content of anyone and they want to add a bunch of rubbish reality TV from the Discovery channel and then prioritize the offerings from D+? Bonkers.

A lot of Oscar voters are racist. No kidding.

Mary, I’m sorry but this is some hacky bullshit. You couldn’t even bother including which character she played?

Thanks for that. Shame on me for assuming AV Club would actually do their job and mention which character she played.

I had to look up who she was. She was Chrissy on s4 of Stranger Things. I think she did a nice job with a tricky role

This movie looks flatout great. The animation looks terrific and the brief scenes that are shown in the trailer make it seem like it was written by people who know and appreciate Nintendo and Mario. The scenes with DK and Mario running through a classic platforming stage and then Mario using the Rainbow Road shortcut

I’m always on the side of collective action, but April 1 seems like a really bad day to pick for something serious like this.

Solidarity forever! Go get yours, editors union!

It’s worth noting that The Room didnt take off “following its release”, it seemingly took off after Seth Rogan and [cant remember] got sick of seeing the billboard and decided to catch it during its original “run”. They drew attention to it and possibly gave it just enough of a profile boost for it to start gaining

After years of only being familiar with it through other media, I finally watched The Room in its entirety a few years ago. The thing that struck me the most about watching the whole movie is how mundane the dialogue is. I think it’s weirdly impressive to accidentally make cinematic gold out of such mundane lines as “P

I’ll bet it was a sexy cage tho. Hummana-hummana!
