The movie wasn't a flop, but not exactly a giant hit either ($210 mil. worldwide on a $150 mil. budget). So i guess they simply didn't want to cough up the money.

Believe it or not, there's actually a Russian ripoff / mockbuster of Planes:

Has anyone seen the series this is based on, and can say if it's worth watching?

@PugsMalone:disqus Sadly, it does indeed exist:
They already did: http://www.avclub.com/artic…
Drew Toal also wants a Snorks film: http://gameological.com/201…. We might be approaching the critical mass needed for Hollywood to take notice!
They forgot to put a stake through his heart.
You don't need superpowers, just some friends at the NSA.
Being the guy who directed Battelfield Earth probably gives you a lot of pull in Hollywood. Or maybe somebody hoped this will become The Room in Space.
Grown Ups 2 box office so far:
Domestic: $82,140,515
Foreign: $8,700,000
According to Boxofficemojo, it has so far made $50 million domestically on a $190 million budget - doesn't exactly scream "giant hit". Also, it was beaten by Grown Ups 2, and that's just sad.
Canadians are a bit more open-minded that way, eh?
I'm not sure if that's the best or the worst title ever.
I'm pretty sure he was an alien from planet Zeist.
In 1993, EA published Michael Jordan in Flight, which according to Wikipedia "is endorsed by Michael Jordan although it has no NBA licensed players or teams". Doesn't say if you actually play as Jordan though.
I found CoJ:Gunslinger very enjoyable as well. It does a great job at stripping the gameplay down to basics while still keeping things fresh enough to constantly motivate the player. With a few changes, it probably could have been a great arcade game (if arcades were still a thing).
While we're on the topic of games: i would simply memorize a deck of cards. Not only because it's easy to memorize, but also because it can be used in endless ways. Even if you forget the rules to the games, future generations can easily come up with new ones.
