So this is kind of petty, but: If you go to “Manage blogs” there’s a block setting and you can block nasty/annoying commenters. It only prevents them from commenting on your personal blog, not on the Jez main page, but it might make you feel better to block that rude and annoying YNMD.

The comment was straightforward, not confrontational. Yours, otoh, is misplaced and intrusive. You seemed to be trying to cause a fight between two other commenters. Too bad you were so obvious. Too bad they’re better than than that and you.

A two-minute Google search turned up three articles on this woman, one of which said German and Jewish officials have been aware of her and trying to prosecute since the late ‘40s, but were stymied by the lack of living witnesses. Another said that if she is tried, it would be as a minor. (Those unfair Germans!)

That discussion would be more productive if those who didn’t know anything about the subject or who hadn’t even bothered to form an opinion did a little research and reflection before showering their pointless meanderings upon the rest of the world.
