Poignant, arresting, emotional, and beautiful. Sometimes things don’t have to be a total shock or unexpected. There were surprises here to be sure, and we may have guessed some of the results before they were revealed, but sometimes it’s the journey and the destination. Both were wonderful and sad, tragic but

I was truly blown away by Dorff’s entire performance.

As spectacle, it’s a lot of fun. But I feel like it’s chickenshit as a scene -- Firth is only killing these people, who are hateful turds that we all want to see dead, because of mind control or whatever. We get the carnage without having to see his character sullied. Blerg. As opposed to something like Punisher: War

I played the old X-Wing and TIE Fighter games and can tell you what these do.

I really respect Kenneth Branagh as an artist. Fantastic actor, excellent director. But screwing around on Emma Thompson? Now I have to reappraise my opinion on the schmuck.

Strongly disagree with that barely-there apathetic B+ grade. This was a fantastic episode, probably the best of the series so far. They finally figured out their characters, figured out how to get them to show petsonality and interact with one another; personalities developed, the plot isn’t needlessly dense, the new

Can’t come back soon enough as the champion, in her full performing powers. With the title around her waist.

Or Burn Notice.

I still want to see The Standoff at Sparrow Creek but that may be colored by my love of James Badge Dale since Rubicon.

The Defenders spent 90% of the season having the characters express disbelief with each other and acting too cool and/or fed up to deal with each other and whatever was going on. That shit should have stopped by episode two.

Punisher is SO good. I had zero/low expectations honestly and totally loved it. The violence is insane but the casting and writing balance it out.

It’d read better if film maudit were in italics to make clear that this is a foreign phrase and a single concept — the anticipated line of defense is that it’s a ‘cursed film’ rather than simply a bad one.

I still get a little verklempt when I think about the look on his face when Alex called him “My best friend in the whole world.” Then he follows it up with “I am that guy.”   Amazing stuff.

I think this is the right take. I love GT. I love it because of the connection to TG, sure, but never kidded myself that it would be the same. They have a nice mix of cars, their banter and chemistry are unmatched as a 3 person TV team, and the photography and locales are gorgeous. I don’t get any smarter watching it,

They can also see which ones people are re-watching. I watch those travel specials over and over again. Going back to the old Top Gear days, I probably watched the Bolivia special on Amazon Prime a dozen times, and the Vietnam special almost as many.

The only thing I had a problem with in First Avenger is that they should have held for an extra two seconds on Evans’ face after he delivered that last line. I found the cut to credits too abrupt, like the movie was wincing away from letting the sadness of the moment really land.

Yes. I don’t care if we just get to watch the 3 of them be terrible at using hotels properly - they are always entertaining.

I have read the entire article and still, for the life of me, I can not decode that title.

Crime = writing about “Darkman” and not even mentioning the cameo by Jenny Agutter

He was perfect in the Burn Notice role, though. Leaving most of his daily antics as anecdotes doled out a bit at a time made him all that much funnier when he showed up. A show with his character as the lead would probably have aged quickly.
