but in the spirit of the original concept... still nowhere near as good as david bowie’s original.

I resolve to give up on The AV Club this year and forever. I’ve been coming here since the Kinjapocalypse and... it just isn’t working. I hate how every other article on the homepage is Kinja Deals or some other Kinja website that isn’t The AV Club. I hate how we still don’t have nesting. Sorting chronologically is…
The SWAT officer who pulled the trigger is to blame. The person who called the fake incident into the police is to blame. The person who passed along the victim’s address is to blame.
Yeah, it’s sad. I feel like I’m one of the few left here from the old days as well.
The Kinjaing of content delivery making navigation difficult, the sponsored posts or cross-posts bubbling up so that you’re uncertain where you last left off reading, the daily BEST PRICE EVER ON THE INSTANT POT posts from some guy named Shemp, the firing of good staff and cutting ties with wonderful freelancers, the…
Kinja itself is profoundly annoying, but the really bad news is how it made so many people leave. Looking at the names left, I think I actually qualify as one of the seniorist members now, which is depressing.
DS9 is probably the best (and certainly my favorite) Star Trek installment, but it’s definitely not the most Star Trek of the Star Trek installments, and I understand why some people basically feel like it wasn’t true to the spirit as a result.
I love me some Marina Sirtis, but DS9 is objectively the best Star Trek series, and I assume there will be no nitpicky debating on this subject to follow.
I’m assuming this is a long con for a great Pikachu gag in Deadpool 3.
This thread of “Complete Guides to ___” is awesome. Keep it up.
The writeup for “Spirit of the Beehive” deserves a goddamn Pulitzer welded to a Presidential Medal of Freedom.
This entire article is better when read with Garrison Keillor’s voice while imagining a crowd laughing at various bits while you sit there not understanding what’s so funny.
The TV show is a sad story. There was a pilot, which got leaked (maybe to drum up interest), but the leaking enraged the WB so much they canned the whole thing.
I saw Blade Runner 2049 in the cinema but I’m in no rush to see it again.
People like Jeff Bezos are the reason I won’t make it even 2/3 of the way to 80.
I agree with the intended sentiment, but please fix this: “sexist man alive.” Uh, no.
Yes- I definitely think that. It hasn’t been shopped that way and it’s probably a Trojan horse for older fans who might be reluctant to accept a hard reboot of the franchise.
Sometimes io9 has to go out of it’s way to be snarky and dismissive of Discovery. I’m confused as to why this it feels so far fetched for Michael Burnham to become a captain in a fictional universe known for forgiving law breakers that it merits an article.
Another piece taking a lazy dig at Discovery on io9, today must end in a ‘Y’.
The climax of the movie is the emotionally-charged moment when Batman realizes that they’re actually called “Martha Boxes,” and I’ll just show myself out thanks
